About Lakshmi Rising
What is Lakshmi Rising?
Lakshmi Rising Yoga & Wellness is a yoga school and global community offering 200- and 300-hour Yoga Alliance–certified vinyasa teacher trainings for both personal and professional development.
Rooted in loving awareness, our programs integrate experiential learning, plant-based nourishment, and holistic wellness to support deep self-inquiry and embodied understanding—guiding students to not only learn yoga, but to live it on and off the mat.
Why choose a Yoga Teacher Training with Lakshmi Rising?
Lakshmi Rising offers an immersive yoga teacher training that integrates vinyasa practice, classical philosophy, and modern science to support the body, mind, and nervous system.
Guided by nearly three decades of study and teaching, founder Liz Lindh has designed a program that goes beyond asana—emphasizing self-inquiry, embodied learning, and a more meaningful understanding of yoga as a lived practice.
You’ll be supported in a learning environment that is both structured and nurturing, where students feel seen, challenged, and encouraged to grow—whether your intention is to teach or to deepen your personal practice.
What style of yoga is taught in Lakshmi Rising’s Yoga Teacher Training?
Lakshmi Rising teaches Hatha Vinyasa Yoga—an awareness-based, somatic, breath-centered flow practice rooted in the lineage of Sri Krishnamacharya and T.K.V. Desikachar.
The training integrates classical yoga philosophy, tantra, Ayurveda, and modern movement science to offer a nuanced and embodied approach to yoga—one that invites you to experience it as a lived practice.
Who will be teaching my training?
Your lead teacher is Dr. Liz Lindh, founder and program director of Lakshmi Rising, with nearly 30 years of dedicated study and teaching experience shaping the heart of the program.
She is supported by a carefully selected team of experienced teachers—many of whom are graduates of the 300-hour training—creating a learning environment that is both knowledgeable, supportive, and rooted in shared experience.
You can learn more about Liz, her team, and the supporting teacher for your specific training dates on our Teachers page.
Program Details & Certification
What is the difference between a Lakshmi Rising 200-hour and 300-hour training?
Our 200-hour training provides the foundational knowledge and skills to begin teaching yoga.
Our 300-hour training is designed to deepen and refine that foundation to support you in developing greater clarity, confidence, and nuance in your teaching while expanding your understanding of practice, philosophy, anatomy, and the art of guiding others.
While 300-hour students participate in many of the same core lectures and discussions as our 200-hour cohort, the experience is distinctly different. Advanced students follow a more rigorous curriculum that includes specialized textbooks, additional projects and assignments, advanced teaching methodology, and longer training days.
The mixed-cohort model also creates unique opportunities during our asana labs and practicum sessions. A common reality, given the wide variety of yoga traditions and teacher training backgrounds, is that much of the 200-hour content is also new to the 300-hour students.
For some 300-hour students, mixed-cohort sessions provide valuable hands-on experience with postures, techniques, and teaching concepts they may not have previously studied in depth. For others, this become a space to work at a more advanced level: refining hands-on adjustments, developing intelligent short-form sequencing, mentoring newer teachers, and exploring how to communicate foundational concepts with greater clarity and skill.
Our approach allows each 300-hour student to meet the practice where they are, while continuing to develop the depth, adaptability, and confidence that distinguish experienced teachers.
Is this program Yoga Alliance certified?
Yes. Lakshmi Rising is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga School, and upon completion of your 300-hour training, you will be eligible to register as an RYT 500 and teach internationally.
What is Yoga Alliance?
Yoga Alliance is an international credentialing organization that sets standards for yoga teachers and teacher trainings.
While certification is not legally required to teach, many studios and employers prefer teachers who are registered with Yoga Alliance.
What are the graduation requirements?
To graduate, you are expected to attend all sessions, complete two knowledge check quizzes, and successfully complete a 30-minute final teaching practicum demonstrating integration of philosophy, personal practice, and teaching methodology.
You will also complete several applied learning components throughout the training, including:
- Researching and presenting an anatomy topic of your choice
- Leading a discussion on an assigned Yama or Niyama
- Teaching a one-hour private class with a fellow 300-hour student
- Writing a recommendation letter for another student (you will receive one in return)
What if I miss some class time? Can I still complete the training?
Yes.
If you miss some class time, you can still complete the program. Our trainings exceed Yoga Alliance’s required contact hours, so minor absences are usually not an issue.
To ensure continuity and support your integration of the material, you will complete a brief written assignment to demonstrate your understanding of any missed content. Additional private instruction is also available, at an additional fee, if further support is needed.
Is there a final exam?
There is no written final exam. Your understanding of the material is demonstrated through active participation, applied learning, two short knowledge checks, and a 30-minute practical teaching assessment at the end of the training.
Is there work to be completed after the training?
All program requirements are completed during your 21-day immersive training experience.
There are no post-training assignments.
How will I receive my certificate?
You will receive a printed copy of your certificate on the final evening of your training. A digital PDF version will also be sent to you via email shortly after the program concludes.
Curriculum
Do we study anatomy?
Yes.
Our anatomy curriculum integrates modern movement science with yogic wisdom, exploring functional movement, biomechanics, and the subtle body.
You’ll deepen your understanding of injury prevention, advanced asana application, and individual variation—supporting more confident, responsive, and intuitive teaching.
Do we practice teaching?
Yes.
Teaching practice is an integral part of the program. You’ll refine your voice through progressive peer teaching practicums, lead a full-length class, and guide group discussions on philosophy and anatomy.
Through this process, you’ll build confidence not only in how you cue, but in how you mentor, educate, and hold space for others.
What is the daily schedule?
Each day is designed as a balanced rhythm of movement, study, discussion, and personal reflection—supporting both depth of learning and space for integration.
A typical day begins with meditation, breathwork, and chanting, followed by a vinyasa practice. Midday sessions may include anatomy workshops, teaching practicums, or applied learning experiences.
Afternoons often include Ayurveda, hands-on assist clinics, or special topic workshops, while evenings are reserved for philosophy discussions, meditation, or integration practices.
You’ll also have time for meals, rest, and self-study throughout the day.
Preparation & Eligibility
What qualifications or prerequisites do I need to participate?
The primary prerequisite for the 300-hour yoga teacher training is completion of a 200-hour training, either through Lakshmi Rising or another school in any tradition.
No prior teaching experience is required.
If you have not yet completed a 200-hour training, we recommend beginning with our foundational program.
Are there reading assignments to complete before the training?
When you register, you will receive a suggested reading list in your Welcome Letter. You can also access it here: You may find it helpful to explore some of these texts in advance, though this is not required.
I don’t have teaching experience. Is this program a good fit for me?
Yes.
Many students join this training with little or no teaching experience. The program is designed to support you in building confidence, refining your skills, and developing your own authentic voice as a teacher.
If you come with curiosity, openness, and a willingness to grow, you will be well supported.
How athletic do I need to be?
You do not need to be an athlete to participate.
Our approach emphasizes mindful movement, body awareness, and adaptability over physical performance. You’ll be supported in honoring your body’s needs and working at a pace that feels sustainable for you.
English is not my native language. Can I participate?
Yes.
A conversational level of English is helpful for following classes and participating in discussions. Many of our students are non-native English speakers, and fluency is not required—just a willingness to engage, learn, and communicate.
Student Experience
Will there be free time for excursions during the training?
Yes.
You’ll have one full day off each week—three days in total—giving you time to explore the local area, join optional excursions, or simply rest and recharge.
Please note that activities on your days off are not included in the tuition.
How many students are in each Yoga Teacher Training program?
Each training hosts up to 25 participants, including a mix of 200- and 300-hour students.
This smaller group size allows for personalized instruction, hands-on guidance, and meaningful connection throughout the experience.
What are the other students like? What is the typical age, gender, and background?
Our community is international and diverse, with students coming from a wide range of backgrounds, ages, and levels of experience.
Most participants are between their 20s and 60s, and while many identify as women, all are welcome.
Will I be connected with other students before the training?
Yes.
Before arrival, you’ll be invited to join a private WhatsApp group with your training cohort. This is a space to connect, coordinate travel, and begin getting to know one another.
Can you put me in touch with past students?
Yes.
We’re happy to connect you with alumni who are open to sharing their experience.

Do you provide airport transfers?
Airport transfers are not included, but can be easily arranged through local taxis or private shuttle services. Detailed travel instructions will be provided after registration.

Early check-in is not available, but there are many nearby accommodations if you wish to arrive in advance.
Your arrival day is the first day of your training, with check-in beginning at 14:00.
Can I arrive late?
